Job Title: Reference and Information Services Librarian

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Reference and Information Services Librarian to join our team. This individual will be responsible for providing exceptional reference and information services to our library patrons. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others, strong research skills, and a thorough understanding of library resources and services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide reference and information services to library patrons in person, over the phone, and online.
• Conduct in-depth research for patrons on a wide range of topics using various print and electronic resources.
• Assist patrons with navigating the library's catalog, databases, and other online resources.
• Develop and maintain a collection of reference materials, including print and electronic resources.
• Stay informed about new resources and technologies in the field of librarianship.
• Collaborate with other librarians and staff to develop and implement programs and services that meet the needs of our diverse community.
• Provide instruction and training to library patrons on how to effectively use library resources.
• Participate in collection development by recommending new materials and weeding outdated resources.
• Stay up-to-date on best practices and emerging trends in reference and information services.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the library's website and online presence.
• Ensure that all reference and information services are provided in a timely, efficient, and professional manner.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in reference and information services.
• Strong knowledge of library resources and services.
• Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Proficiency in using library technology, including online databases and research tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in an academic library.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in reference and information services.
• Experience with collection development.
• Experience providing instruction or training to library patrons.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and another language.
