Position: Career Development Specialist

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Career Development Specialist. As a Career Development Specialist, you will play a critical role in helping individuals achieve their professional goals and advance in their careers. This position requires a strong understanding of career development theories, excellent communication and coaching skills, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct one-on-one career counseling sessions with clients to assess their career goals, interests, and skills
• Utilize a variety of assessment tools to help clients identify their strengths, values, and career preferences
• Develop personalized career plans for clients based on their unique goals and aspirations
• Assist clients in creating effective resumes, cover letters, and other job application materials
• Conduct mock interviews and provide feedback to help clients improve their interviewing skills
• Research job opportunities and provide clients with relevant job leads and resources
• Collaborate with employers to develop internship and job opportunities for clients
• Plan and facilitate career development workshops and seminars
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and track their progress
• Establish and maintain relationships with local businesses, organizations, and educational institutions to stay informed about the job market and employment trends
• Stay current on industry trends and best practices in career development to continuously improve services offered to clients

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in career counseling, psychology, human resources, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in career counseling or related field
• Strong knowledge of career development theories and techniques
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients
• Experience conducting assessments and providing career counseling to individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Proficiency in using career assessment tools and online resources
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Passion for helping individuals reach their full potential and achieve their career goals
• Certification in career counseling or related field is a plus
