Job Title: Academic Advisor

About the role: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Academic Advisor to join our team. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a vital role in guiding and supporting students to achieve their academic goals. You will provide comprehensive academic advising services to students, helping them navigate their academic journey and make informed decisions about their education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic advising to students in a timely and professional manner
• Assist students with course selection, degree planning, and academic goal setting
• Monitor students' progress and provide guidance on academic requirements and policies
• Participate in orientation programs and information sessions to educate students on academic programs and resources
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement academic support programs and initiatives
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and documentation of advising sessions
• Identify at-risk students and provide interventions to support their academic success
• Stay current with academic policies, procedures, and resources to provide accurate and effective advising services
• Contribute to the development and improvement of academic advising processes and systems

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising or a related field
• Strong knowledge of academic programs and requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with diverse student populations and adapt to various advising styles
• Proficiency in using student information systems and other technology tools
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
