Position: Transportation Manager

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Manager to join our team. As a Transportation Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of transportation operations, including managing a team of drivers, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining a safe and efficient transportation system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement transportation plans and strategies that align with company objectives and budget goals
• Manage a team of drivers, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
• Monitor and analyze transportation data to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities
• Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and laws, including DOT and OSHA regulations
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to transportation operations
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate transportation needs and optimize resources
• Negotiate and manage contracts with transportation vendors and suppliers
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve transportation efficiency and safety
• Conduct regular safety meetings and trainings for drivers
• Handle any transportation-related emergencies or incidents in a timely and effective manner

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation management, preferably in a high-volume environment
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation laws
• Excellent leadership and people management skills
• Proficient in data analysis and transportation management software
• Proven track record of implementing successful transportation strategies
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Knowledge of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus
