Job Title: Legislative Affairs Specialist

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Legislative Affairs Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a Legislative Affairs Specialist, you will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between our organization and government entities. You will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing legislative developments and advocating for our organization's interests at the local, state, and federal levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the legislative process, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a passion for public policy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments at the local, state, and federal levels that may impact our organization's operations and interests.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key government officials and stakeholders to advocate for our organization's priorities.
• Prepare and present policy briefings and reports to internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, on legislative issues and their potential impact on the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement legislative strategies and action plans.
• Attend and represent our organization at legislative hearings, meetings, and other events.
• Conduct research and analysis on policy issues and propose solutions to potential challenges.
• Review and provide feedback on proposed legislation and regulations that may impact our organization.
• Develop and maintain a network of contacts within the legislative and regulatory communities.
• Act as a liaison between our organization and government agencies to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience working in government relations, public policy, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of the legislative process and government operations.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven track record of successfully advocating for legislative priorities.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
• Knowledge of current legislative and regulatory issues related to our organization's industry is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
