Job Overview: As a Student Success Advisor, you will be responsible for providing academic and career guidance to students, assisting them in achieving their academic goals and preparing for their future careers. You will work closely with a diverse group of students, providing personalized support and resources to help them thrive academically and personally. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for education, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of student success strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for students, providing academic and career guidance throughout their academic journey
• Conduct regular check-ins with students to assess their progress, identify any challenges, and provide solutions to help them succeed
• Collaborate with faculty and other support staff to develop and implement student success programs and initiatives
• Advise students on course selection and registration, ensuring they are on track to meet their academic requirements
• Assess student needs and provide resources and referrals to support their academic, personal, and career development
• Monitor student academic progress and intervene when necessary to ensure timely completion of their degree program
• Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and other events to enhance student success and engagement
• Keep accurate records of student interactions and maintain confidentiality of student information
• Stay informed about current trends and best practices in student success and utilize this knowledge to improve student outcomes
• Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement retention strategies to increase student success and graduation rates

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an academic advising, counseling, or student services role
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students, faculty, and staff
• Knowledge of student development theories and strategies for promoting student success
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and student information systems
• Experience with student retention initiatives and data analysis preferred
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
