Capital Markets Operations Specialist

Position: Capital Markets Operations Specialist

About the Role: As a Capital Markets Operations Specialist, you will play a vital role in the efficient functioning and growth of our organization's capital markets operations. You will be responsible for managing and overseeing all activities related to capital markets, including trading, investment management, and risk management. You will work closely with the capital markets team, as well as other departments within the organization, to ensure smooth and effective operations.

Key Responsibilities: Capital Markets Trading: You will be responsible for executing and managing trades in various capital markets, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and foreign exchange. This will involve analyzing market trends, monitoring trade execution and settlement, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Investment Management: You will be responsible for managing the organization's investment portfolio, including analyzing investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, and making investment recommendations. You will also be responsible for monitoring the performance of investments and making adjustments as needed.

Risk Management: You will be responsible for identifying and managing risks associated with capital markets operations. This will involve monitoring market trends, assessing potential risks, and implementing risk mitigation strategies.

Reporting and Analysis: You will be responsible for preparing regular reports on capital markets activities, including trade execution, investment performance, and risk management. You will also provide analysis and insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Process Improvement: You will continuously review and improve processes related to capital markets operations to increase efficiency and effectiveness. This may involve developing new procedures, implementing new technologies, and streamlining existing processes.

Relationship Management: You will establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including brokers, custodians, and other external partners. You will also collaborate with internal teams, such as finance, legal, and compliance, to ensure alignment and coordination of activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in capital markets operations, preferably within a financial institution
• Strong understanding of capital markets, investment products, and financial instruments
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions
• Demonstrated experience in risk management and compliance
• Proficient in using financial software and systems
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
• Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or CAIA are a plus.
