Job Title: Construction Estimator

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and possess excellent analytical and mathematical skills. As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely cost estimates for construction projects. This role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints, knowledge of construction materials and methods, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, contractors, and other team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to develop accurate cost estimates
• Conduct on-site visits to gather information and assess site conditions
• Create and maintain a detailed database of construction costs, labor rates, and material prices
• Collaborate with project managers and contractors to understand project requirements and develop cost-effective solutions
• Utilize software and other tools to prepare estimates and proposals
• Identify potential cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities
• Prepare and present estimates to clients and stakeholders
• Continuously monitor and track project costs and provide regular updates to project managers
• Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes and negotiate pricing
• Stay current with industry trends and changes in construction materials and methods
• Assist in the preparation of project budgets and timelines
• Participate in bid meetings and assist in the preparation of bid packages
• Provide support and guidance to junior estimators and other team members as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction estimating
• Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and processes
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents
• Advanced mathematical and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Proficient in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
• Proven track record of delivering accurate and timely estimates
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
