Job Summary: We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and skilled Proofreader to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and will possess excellent written communication skills. As a Proofreader, you will be responsible for reviewing and correcting written materials to ensure accuracy and consistency. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proofread various written materials, including but not limited to articles, reports, emails, marketing materials, and other documents
• Check for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors and make necessary corrections
• Ensure consistency in formatting, style, and tone throughout all written materials
• Collaborate with writers, editors, and other team members to ensure accuracy and clarity in all written content
• Conduct research to verify facts and information presented in written materials
• Make suggestions for improvements in writing style, tone, and organization
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all proofreading tasks
• Meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience as a Proofreader or Editor
• Proficient in grammar, spelling, and punctuation rules
• Strong editing and proofreading skills
• Excellent written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other proofreading tools
• Familiarity with AP Style and Chicago Manual of Style
• A keen eye for detail and a passion for accuracy
