Position: Harvest Coordinator

Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Harvest Coordinator to join our team. As the Harvest Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the harvest process from start to finish. You will work closely with various departments such as farm operations, logistics, and quality control to ensure a successful and efficient harvest. This is a fast-paced and hands-on role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain harvest schedules for multiple crops, taking into consideration factors such as crop maturity, weather conditions, and labor availability
• Collaborate with farm operations to ensure proper harvesting techniques are being followed and to identify any potential issues or concerns
• Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery of harvested crops to designated locations
• Monitor and track harvest progress, making adjustments as needed to meet production goals
• Oversee the quality control process, ensuring that all harvested crops meet company standards
• Manage a team of harvest workers, providing guidance and support to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of harvest activities, including yields, labor hours, and any issues encountered
• Identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency and productivity
• Communicate regularly with management on harvest progress, challenges, and opportunities
• Stay current with industry trends and developments related to harvesting techniques and equipment

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a commercial farming environment
• Strong understanding of crop production and harvesting techniques
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs
• Willingness to work long hours and weekends during peak harvest season
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
