Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and direct the movement of aircrafts in a designated airspace using radar and other tracking equipment
Communicate with pilots and provide them with necessary information such as weather conditions, runway availability, and other potential hazards
Issue takeoff and landing instructions to pilots while maintaining a safe distance between aircrafts
Monitor and maintain proper separation between aircrafts to prevent mid-air collisions
Coordinate with other air traffic controllers, ground personnel, and airport staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations
Continuously monitor weather conditions and make necessary adjustments to flight plans to ensure the safety of aircrafts
Respond to emergency situations and provide necessary support and guidance to pilots
Keep accurate records of all incoming and outgoing flights, as well as any incidents or delays
Stay updated on all air traffic regulations and procedures and ensure compliance at all times
Train and mentor new air traffic controllers as needed

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in air traffic control, aviation, or a related field
Previous experience as an air traffic controller or in a similar role is preferred
Strong knowledge of air traffic control procedures, regulations, and equipment
Excellent communication and decision-making skills
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Willingness to work in rotating shifts and be available for on-call duty
Ability to pass a rigorous background check and obtain security clearance
Must be able to pass physical and mental exams to ensure fitness for duty
Familiarity with computer systems and ability to learn new software quickly
