Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual academic advising to students on a variety of topics including course selection, degree requirements, academic policies, and resources available to support their academic success.
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the academic programs offered at our institution to effectively advise students on their academic goals and career aspirations.
Assist students in creating and updating their academic plans, ensuring that they are on track to meet their program requirements and graduate in a timely manner.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement effective academic support programs and initiatives to improve student retention and success.
Utilize data and student feedback to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for enhancing the academic advising experience.
Stay current with industry trends and best practices in academic advising to continuously improve the quality of services provided to our students.
Serve as a liaison between students and other departments, communicating important information, referrals, and resources to ensure a seamless academic experience.
Participate in orientation, registration, and other campus-wide events to assist students in their transition to college and promote academic success.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of student interactions and progress to assist in tracking and reporting on student success.
Attend professional development workshops and conferences to enhance knowledge and skills in academic advising.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising at the collegiate level.
Strong understanding of academic policies, procedures, and degree requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to students from diverse backgrounds.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to achieve common goals.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and student information systems.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
