Job Title: Academic Advisor

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Academic Advisor. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a crucial role in helping students achieve their academic and personal goals. You will provide guidance and support to students throughout their academic journey and assist them in making informed decisions about their education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet with students on a regular basis to discuss their academic progress and provide guidance on course selection and degree requirements
• Assist students in developing academic plans that align with their career goals and interests
• Advise students on university policies and procedures, including registration, financial aid, and academic regulations
• Monitor students' academic standing and provide interventions when necessary
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and address students' academic needs and concerns
• Refer students to appropriate campus resources for additional support and assistance
• Develop and deliver workshops and presentations on academic success strategies
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student interactions and academic plans
• Stay informed about changes in academic programs and policies to ensure accurate and timely advising
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance advising skills and knowledge

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising or related field
• Knowledge of higher education policies and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with a diverse student population
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Proficiency in using computer programs and student information systems
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
