Job Title: Railroad Conductor

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Railroad Conductor to join our team. As a Railroad Conductor, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of trains, ensuring the timely transport of goods and passengers. You will also be responsible for the coordination and communication with other train crew members, dispatchers, and station personnel to ensure a smooth and successful journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct pre-trip inspections of train equipment, including brakes, lights, and couplings to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
• Operate locomotive engines and train cars in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic signals, speed limits, and track conditions.
• Communicate with other train crew members via radio or hand signals to coordinate and execute train movements.
• Monitor gauges and instruments to ensure proper functioning of train systems.
• Perform regular maintenance and repairs on train equipment as needed.
• Keep accurate records of train movements, cargo, and passenger counts.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations and policies.
• Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo and passengers.
• Respond to emergency situations, such as derailments or accidents, following proper procedures and protocols.
• Provide excellent customer service to passengers, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise during the journey.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Railroad Conductor.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Strong knowledge of train operations, including safety regulations and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Physical stamina and strength to operate train equipment and perform required tasks.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
