Position: Freight Operations Supervisor

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Freight Operations Supervisor to join our team. This position will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our freight department and ensuring the timely and efficient movement of goods. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in freight operations, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise a team of freight coordinators, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner
• Monitor and track shipments, ensuring they are delivered within the specified timeframe
• Resolve any issues or delays that may arise during the shipping process
• Maintain strong relationships with carriers, negotiating rates and contracts as needed
• Train and develop team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively
• Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements
• Generate and analyze reports to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for optimization
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination of shipments and resolve any cross-functional issues
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to continuously improve our freight operations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in freight operations, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role
• Strong knowledge of freight management systems and industry best practices
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel
• Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional weekends, as needed
