About the Role: As a Student Success Advisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the academic and personal success of students within our institution. You will serve as a mentor, guide, and advocate for students, providing them with the necessary support and resources to achieve their educational goals. In this role, you will work closely with students, faculty, and staff to promote a positive learning environment and foster a culture of academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for a caseload of students, providing academic and personal support throughout their academic journey.
• Develop individualized success plans for each student, identifying their strengths, weaknesses, and goals, and providing guidance on how to achieve them.
• Conduct regular check-ins with students to monitor their progress and provide guidance and resources when needed.
• Collaborate with faculty to identify at-risk students and develop strategies to support their academic success.
• Assist students with course selection and registration, ensuring they are on track to meet their graduation requirements.
• Provide resources and referrals to students for academic support services, such as tutoring, study skills workshops, and career counseling.
• Coordinate and facilitate workshops and events focused on academic success, time management, and study skills.
• Serve as a mediator for any conflicts or issues that may arise between students and faculty/staff.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student interactions and progress.
• Stay informed about institutional policies, procedures, and academic programs to provide accurate and relevant information to students.
• Participate in departmental and institutional meetings and trainings to stay updated on best practices in student success.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in academic advising, student support, or counseling.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of academic support services and resources.
• Familiarity with student development theories and best practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems.
• Passion for student success and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
