Position Title: Timber Harvesting Manager

Overview: We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Timber Harvesting Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of timber harvesting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in forestry management, along with excellent leadership skills and a proven track record of successful timber harvesting projects. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement timber harvesting plans in accordance with company policies, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Monitor and manage timber harvesting operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Oversee the selection, training, and supervision of harvesting crews and contractors.
• Manage the procurement and maintenance of equipment and tools necessary for timber harvesting operations.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and sustainable forestry practices.
• Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders to coordinate timber harvesting activities.
• Identify and implement strategies to improve productivity and reduce costs.
• Monitor and report on timber inventory levels and make recommendations for sustainable harvesting practices.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and reports related to timber harvesting operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Natural Resource Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in forest management, with a focus on timber harvesting.
• Strong knowledge of sustainable forestry practices and environmental regulations.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale timber harvesting operations.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Proficient in using technology and software for managing timber harvesting operations.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Working Conditions:

• This position may require travel to remote locations and work in adverse weather conditions.
• The Timber Harvesting Manager may be required to work weekends and evenings to oversee operations.
