Position: Academic Advisor

Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as an Academic Advisor. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a crucial role in helping students navigate their academic journey and achieve their educational goals. You will serve as a primary point of contact for students and work closely with faculty and staff to ensure student success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic advising and support to a diverse student population
• Assist students in developing academic plans and selecting appropriate courses
• Educate students on academic policies, procedures, and resources available to them
• Monitor students' academic progress and intervene when necessary
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and address student needs
• Participate in orientation and other student outreach programs
• Maintain accurate and updated student records
• Stay current on changes and updates to academic programs and requirements
• Attend training and professional development opportunities to enhance advising skills
• Support retention and graduation efforts through proactive outreach and engagement with students

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising or a related field
• Knowledge of academic programs, curriculum, and policies
• Ability to work with a diverse student population
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Proficiency in using technology and student information systems
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed
