Location: Melbourne, Australia

Salary: EUR: €50,000 - €85,000 annually

About the Role: As an Academic Advisor, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting students throughout their academic journey. You will serve as a mentor, counselor, and advocate for students, providing them with the necessary resources and guidance to help them achieve their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic advising to students, including course selection, degree planning, and career exploration.
• Assist students in developing personalized academic plans that align with their interests, skills, and career aspirations.
• Monitor and track student progress, ensuring they are on track to meet academic requirements and deadlines.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure students receive the necessary support and resources to succeed academically.
• Stay up-to-date on academic policies, procedures, and requirements to accurately advise students.
• Conduct outreach and follow-up with at-risk students to help them overcome any academic challenges.
• Assist with registration, enrollment, and scheduling processes for students.
• Participate in departmental and university-wide initiatives related to academic advising and student success.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff to enhance the student experience.
• Serve as a liaison between students and academic departments to resolve any issues or concerns.
• Provide support and resources for students facing personal or academic challenges.
• Utilize advising tools and technologies to track student progress and communicate with students effectively.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in academic advising or a related field.
• Knowledge of academic policies and procedures.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems.
• Passion for helping students achieve their academic and personal goals.
