Position: Cemetery Manager

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cemetery Manager to oversee the daily operations and management of our cemetery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cemetery management, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for providing compassionate and respectful services to families during their time of need. This is a full-time, on-site position that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the cemetery, ensuring all services are conducted in a respectful and professional manner
• Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the cemetery grounds, including landscaping, irrigation, and equipment maintenance
• Develop and maintain relationships with funeral homes, religious organizations, and community groups to promote the cemetery and its services
• Work closely with families to provide them with exceptional customer service and assistance in selecting burial or cremation options
• Create and maintain records of all cemetery plots, including sales, interments, and transfers
• Manage the cemetery budget, including forecasting and reporting on financial performance
• Hire, train, and supervise cemetery staff, ensuring all employees are properly trained and adhere to company policies and procedures
• Implement and enforce cemetery policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all state and local regulations
• Plan and coordinate special events, such as memorial services and holiday decorating, to honor the families and loved ones of those buried in the cemetery
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices, and make recommendations for improvements to cemetery operations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business management, horticulture, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cemetery management, with a proven track record of success
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups of people
• In-depth knowledge of cemetery operations, including grave digging, interments, and memorialization options
• Understanding of state and local cemetery regulations and the ability to ensure compliance
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer programs, with the ability to learn new software quickly
• Compassionate, empathetic, and able to provide exceptional customer service to families during difficult times
• Must be physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform manual labor, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
