As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mortician to join our team.

Job Description: As a Mortician, you will be responsible for providing a range of services related to funeral arrangements, embalming, and cremation. You will work closely with families to ensure that their loved one's final wishes are carried out with dignity and respect. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet with families to discuss funeral arrangements and provide guidance and support during their time of loss
• Prepare the deceased for viewing and burial, including embalming, dressing, and casketing
• Coordinate with funeral directors, clergy, and cemetery staff to ensure a smooth funeral service
• Arrange for transportation of the deceased to the funeral home and/or cemetery
• Oversee and direct funeral services, ensuring that all aspects are carried out according to the family's wishes
• Assist families with selecting and purchasing caskets, urns, and other funeral merchandise
• Maintain accurate records of all services performed and complete necessary paperwork
• Provide grief support and resources to families as needed
• Adhere to all state and federal regulations related to funeral services and mortuary science
• Keep updated on industry trends and developments to provide the best possible service to families
• Collaborate with the funeral home team to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming facility

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mortuary Science or related field
• State licensure as a Mortician
• Previous experience working in a funeral home or mortuary setting is preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficient in computer and technology systems
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Physical ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
