Key Responsibilities:

Operate locomotives in a safe and efficient manner, following all safety protocols and regulations.
Conduct pre-trip inspections of locomotives to ensure they are in good working condition.
Monitor locomotive performance during trips and make adjustments as needed.
Communicate with dispatchers and other crew members to ensure timely and safe train movements.
Adhere to all federal, state, and company rules and regulations related to train operations.
Troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical issues that may arise during trips.
Complete all necessary paperwork and reports accurately and on time.
Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on locomotives as needed.
Train and mentor new Locomotive Engineers and other crew members.
Continuously monitor and evaluate train operations to identify and implement improvements.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Locomotive Engineer.
Valid locomotive engineer certification and license.
Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to train operations.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physically fit and able to perform the duties of the job, including climbing, bending, and lifting heavy objects.
