Position: Furniture Designer

Location: Akureyri, Iceland

We are seeking a highly creative and talented Furniture Designer to join our team. As a Furniture Designer, you will be responsible for designing and creating unique and functional furniture pieces for our company. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for furniture design, excellent technical skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop furniture pieces that align with the company's brand and aesthetic
• Collaborate with the design team to conceptualize and create new furniture designs
• Research and stay up-to-date on current furniture trends and materials
• Create detailed sketches and technical drawings for furniture prototypes
• Select appropriate materials and finishes for each furniture piece
• Work closely with manufacturers to ensure the design is accurately executed
• Conduct quality control checks to ensure the final product meets design specifications
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create visual presentations of furniture designs for promotional purposes
• Continuously improve and refine furniture designs based on customer feedback and market trends
• Stay updated on industry trends and new techniques through attending workshops, seminars, and trade shows

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Furniture Design, Industrial Design, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in furniture design or a similar role
• Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of furniture design projects
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Knowledge of furniture construction techniques and materials
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
