Job Title: Agricultural Technician

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Agricultural Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the management and maintenance of our agricultural operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for agriculture and a strong understanding of farming techniques, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct soil and plant analysis to determine nutrient levels and make recommendations for fertilization and other treatments.
• Operate and maintain various farm equipment, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems.
• Monitor and control pest and weed populations using safe and effective methods.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of crop rotations and cover cropping.
• Conduct regular field inspections to identify any potential issues and make necessary adjustments.
• Maintain accurate records of all farming activities, including planting, harvesting, and chemical applications.
• Assist in the coordination of farm labor, including training and supervision.
• Participate in the development and implementation of sustainable farming practices.
• Keep up-to-date with advancements in agricultural technology and techniques.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a large-scale farming operation.
• Strong knowledge of farming techniques, including soil and plant health, crop rotation, and pest management.
• Experience operating and maintaining farm equipment.
• Familiarity with sustainable farming practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willingness to work extended hours during peak farming seasons.
