Job Title: Flight Dispatcher

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Flight Dispatcher. As a Flight Dispatcher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our airline. Your primary responsibility will be to plan and monitor flights, making real-time decisions to maintain the highest level of safety and schedule integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain flight plans, taking into consideration weather conditions, aircraft performance, and route restrictions
• Communicate flight plans to pilots and ensure they are aware of all relevant weather and safety information
• Monitor flight progress and make real-time decisions to address any potential issues, such as weather delays or mechanical problems
• Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance and scheduling, to ensure smooth operations and timely resolution of any issues
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records of flight plans, weather reports, and communication with pilots
• Comply with all applicable regulations and guidelines, including those set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)
• Continuously monitor and analyze flight data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for changes to procedures or policies

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in aviation or related field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Flight Dispatcher or in a related role, such as Air Traffic Control or Flight Operations
• Strong knowledge of flight planning and navigation systems
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick, sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
• Familiarity with FAA and ICAO regulations and guidelines
• Proficient in computer systems and programs, including flight planning software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid FAA Flight Dispatcher Certificate
