Title: Steel Welding Technician

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Steel Welding Technician to join our team. As a Steel Welding Technician, you will be responsible for performing welding and fabrication tasks on various steel components. This is a hands-on position that requires a strong attention to detail and a high level of technical expertise. The ideal candidate will have a passion for welding and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform welding and fabrication tasks on steel components according to blueprints and specifications
• Set up and operate welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, and arc welders
• Inspect and test welds for accuracy and strength
• Ensure all safety standards and procedures are followed while performing welding tasks
• Maintain welding equipment and troubleshoot any issues that may arise
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to ensure project goals are met
• Continuously strive for improvement in welding techniques and processes
• Keep detailed records of welding activities and materials used
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure project timelines are met
• Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in welding preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in steel welding and fabrication
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
• Extensive knowledge of welding techniques, equipment, and materials
• Ability to operate a variety of welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, and arc welders
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work
• Ability to work independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
