Job Title: Advocacy Specialist

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Advocacy Specialist to join our team. As an Advocacy Specialist, you will play a critical role in advocating for our organization and the causes we support. You will be responsible for developing and implementing advocacy strategies to influence policies and decision-making at all levels of government, as well as engaging with key stakeholders and building coalitions to advance our advocacy efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement advocacy strategies to influence policies and decision-making at the local, state, and federal levels.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that impact our organization and the causes we support.
• Conduct research and analysis on key issues and develop policy recommendations to support our advocacy efforts.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and advocacy organizations, to advance our advocacy goals.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop messaging and materials for advocacy campaigns and initiatives.
• Represent our organization at meetings, events, and conferences to promote our advocacy agenda.
• Track and report on advocacy metrics and outcomes to demonstrate the impact of our efforts.
• Develop and maintain a network of volunteers and advocates to support our advocacy efforts.
• Participate in advocacy training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in advocacy, public policy, or government relations.
• Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory process at the local, state, and federal levels.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and influence decision-makers.
• Experience developing and implementing advocacy strategies and campaigns.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for advocacy and social justice issues.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
