Responsibilities: ● Preside over court cases, ensuring that all parties are treated fairly and with respect● Conduct legal research and analyze evidence presented by both the prosecution and defense● Apply relevant laws, precedents, and legal principles to make fair and impartial decisions● Maintain order and control in the courtroom, while also ensuring that proceedings are conducted in a timely and efficient manner● Issue rulings, judgments, and decisions in a clear and concise manner● Draft legal opinions and written judgments to support decisions made in court● Oversee the jury selection process and provide instructions to the jury on their duties and responsibilities● Communicate with attorneys, witnesses, and other parties involved in the case to clarify legal matters and ensure a smooth trial process● Review legal documents, motions, and briefs submitted by attorneys and make decisions on their admissibility in court● Stay updated on legal developments, precedents, and changes in laws to ensure fair and consistent decisions are made in court
