Job Title: Security Officer

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our organization and its assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security procedures and protocols, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make quick and sound decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
• Patrol premises regularly to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify potential security risks and respond promptly to any suspicious activity.
• Conduct security checks to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and report any violations to the appropriate authorities.
• Respond to emergency situations and take necessary action, such as contacting emergency services or evacuating the premises.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies and emergency responders to maintain safety and security.
• Investigate and report incidents, accidents, or suspicious activities to management, and provide detailed written reports.
• Conduct security audits and risk assessments to identify potential security vulnerabilities and implement appropriate measures to mitigate them.
• Train and educate employees on security procedures and protocols, and ensure that they adhere to them at all times.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of daily activities and incidents.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a security-related role, preferably in a corporate or industrial setting.
• Knowledge of security procedures and protocols, as well as applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations, and make quick and effective decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using security equipment, such as surveillance cameras and alarm systems.
• Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and climb stairs as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
