Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team of database administrators, providing guidance, support, and training as needed
Develop and implement database strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and availability
Monitor and maintain the performance, capacity, and availability of all databases
Design and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data protection and disaster recovery
Work closely with the IT team to ensure proper integration and compatibility of databases with other systems and applications
Conduct regular audits and perform data quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of data
Manage database upgrades, patches, and installations to ensure databases are up-to-date and secure
Troubleshoot and resolve any database related issues in a timely manner
Collaborate with other departments to understand their database needs and provide solutions accordingly
Develop and maintain documentation of all database systems, processes, and procedures
Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and trends and make recommendations for improvement and optimization
Participate in the recruitment and hiring process for new database team members

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in database management, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
Strong knowledge of database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL
Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques
Knowledge of database security and data protection best practices
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
