Position Overview: Our organization is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Public Safety Officer to join our team. As a Public Safety Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. You will be responsible for enforcing laws, responding to emergency calls, and maintaining a visible presence in the community to deter crime and promote a sense of security. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in law enforcement and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patrol assigned areas, including buildings, parking lots, and public spaces, to deter criminal activity and ensure the safety of individuals and property.
• Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance as needed, including administering first aid, conducting investigations, and making arrests when necessary.
• Enforce local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including traffic laws, to ensure public safety and maintain order.
• Conduct thorough and accurate investigations of incidents, including collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses, and writing detailed reports.
• Monitor surveillance equipment and alarms to detect and respond to potential security threats.
• Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor while interacting with the public, providing information and assistance as needed.
• Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and emergency response teams to coordinate efforts and ensure effective response to emergencies.
• Stay up-to-date on laws, policies, and procedures related to public safety and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance skills and knowledge in the field of public safety.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in criminal justice or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in law enforcement or a related field.
• Knowledge of criminal law, civil law, and due process procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-stress situations.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Physical ability to perform job duties, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Must pass a thorough background check and drug screening.

Working Conditions:

• This position requires working in various weather conditions and may involve exposure to hazardous materials.
• Must be willing to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• May be required to carry a firearm and pass firearms training and certification.
• Must be able to handle physically demanding tasks and have the ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.
