Location: Heredia, Costa Rica

Overview: Our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to oversee our shipbuilding operations. As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the production process, ensuring that our ships are built to the highest quality standards, on time and within budget. You will be a key member of our team, working closely with the engineering, design, and procurement departments to ensure the successful completion of our shipbuilding projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet project deadlines and budget constraints.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
• Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to ensure that ships are built according to specifications and customer requirements.
• Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment needed for shipbuilding projects.
• Manage and mentor a team of production supervisors and workers, ensuring that they are trained and equipped to perform their duties effectively.
• Monitor production processes and address any issues that may arise, ensuring that production targets are met.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address any issues that may arise.
• Collaborate with project managers to develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that projects are completed within budget constraints.
• Prepare regular progress reports for senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in shipbuilding production management.
• Strong knowledge of shipbuilding processes and procedures.
• Proven track record of successfully managing multiple shipbuilding projects simultaneously.
• Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in project management and production planning software.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to shipbuilding.
