Position: Senior Character Animator

Location: Saskatchewan, Canada

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Character Animator to join our dynamic and creative team. As a Senior Character Animator, you will be responsible for bringing to life a wide variety of characters, creatures, and objects through the use of animation techniques. You will play a crucial role in crafting the visual storytelling of our projects, and your passion for animation and attention to detail will be essential in creating captivating and believable characters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create high-quality character animations using various techniques such as keyframe animation, motion capture, and procedural animation.
• Collaborate closely with other artists, designers, and programmers to ensure that all animations meet the creative vision and technical requirements of the project.
• Develop and maintain animation pipelines, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and quality.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior animators, helping them to improve their skills and grow as artists.
• Actively participate in team meetings, providing creative ideas and solutions to animation challenges.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and techniques, and incorporate them into your work to continuously improve the quality of our animations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Animation, Film, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a professional character animator, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• Advanced knowledge of animation principles, body mechanics, and lip-sync techniques.
• Proficient in industry-standard animation software such as Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender.
• Experience with motion capture and performance capture technologies.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of high-quality character animations.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience in rigging and skinning characters.
• Knowledge of scripting languages and animation tools such as Python, MEL, or Houdini.
• Passion for video games, movies, and other forms of animation.
