Job Title: Dairy Farm Manager

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dairy Farm Manager to oversee the daily operations of our dairy farm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dairy farming, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for animal welfare. As the Dairy Farm Manager, you will be responsible for managing the farm's resources, ensuring the production of high-quality dairy products, and maintaining the farm's profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the dairy farm, including overseeing all aspects of milk production, herd health, and farm maintenance
• Develop and implement farm policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations
• Monitor herd performance and make strategic decisions to improve milk production and herd health
• Hire, train, and supervise farm staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their success
• Manage farm finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control measures
• Maintain accurate records of farm operations, including herd records, feed inventory, and financial records
• Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with veterinarians, nutritionists, and other experts to optimize herd health and production
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices to continuously improve farm operations
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of farm equipment, buildings, and facilities
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with suppliers, buyers, and other industry professionals
• Develop and implement strategies to increase farm profitability, including identifying new markets and products

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in dairy farming, with at least 2 years in a management role
• Strong knowledge of dairy herd management, nutrition, and reproduction
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
• Ability to make sound decisions based on data and analysis
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and cost control
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards in the agriculture industry
• Proficiency in farm management software and Microsoft Office
• Willingness to work long hours and be on-call as needed
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate farm equipment
