Title: Collections Manager
Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Collections Manager to join our team. As a Collections Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of collectors, overseeing the collection process, and implementing strategies to improve the overall collection performance. You will also be responsible for maintaining relationships with clients and ensuring timely and accurate collection of outstanding debts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective collection strategies to maximize collections and minimize bad debt write-offs
- Manage a team of collectors, providing guidance, coaching, and training to ensure high performance
- Monitor and analyze collection data to identify trends and implement strategies to improve collection rates
- Maintain relationships with clients and negotiate payment plans to ensure timely and accurate collection of debts
- Review and approve settlements and payment arrangements with debtors
- Oversee the implementation of new collection software and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the collection department
- Conduct regular performance evaluations for team members and provide feedback for improvement
- Prepare and present reports on collection performance to senior management
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing and collection issues
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in collections, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
- Strong knowledge of collection laws and regulations
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding collection targets
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Proficient in using collection software and tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make sound decisions
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
