Job Title: Library Director

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Library Director to lead our prestigious organization's library department. The Library Director will oversee the overall operations of the library, including budget management, staff supervision, and strategic planning. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement long-term strategic plans for the library, in alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.
• Oversee the budget for the library, including planning, forecasting, and monitoring expenditures to ensure the efficient use of resources.
• Manage a team of librarians and support staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a high level of performance and productivity.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, and other stakeholders to promote library services and programs.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in library services and implement new initiatives to enhance the library's offerings.
• Develop and maintain collection policies and procedures, ensuring the library's collection is relevant, diverse, and meets the needs of the community.
• Oversee the cataloging, classification, and processing of library materials to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• Collaborate with other departments within the organization to develop joint programs and initiatives that support the organization's overall mission.
• Represent the library at community events, conferences, and meetings to promote awareness and support for library services.
• Prepare and present reports to senior management and the library board on the library's performance, including usage statistics, financials, and strategic plans.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Library Science or Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in library management, with a proven track record of successful leadership and strategic planning.
• Demonstrated knowledge of library operations, including collection development, budgeting, and staff management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in the use of library management systems, databases, and other library-related technologies.
• Passion for literature, education, and community service.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
