Network Specialist

This is a full-time position, with standard office hours and occasional after-hours work required for network maintenance and upgrades. The Network Specialist may also be required to participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support. This position may require occasional travel to remote offices or data centers. Position: Network Specialist

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Specialist to join our team. As a Network Specialist, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our company's network infrastructure. This position requires a deep understanding of network technologies and protocols, as well as the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in network technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain our company's network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and other networking devices.
• Monitor and analyze network performance, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise.
• Configure and maintain network security measures, such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement network solutions that meet the company's needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum network reliability.
• Perform regular network maintenance and upgrades, keeping the network infrastructure up-to-date and running smoothly.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in network technology, recommending and implementing new solutions to improve network performance and security.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
• Extensive knowledge of network security best practices and experience implementing security measures.
• Experience working with Cisco networking equipment, including switches and routers.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools, such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or Nagios.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex network issues.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ are highly preferred.
