Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary point of contact for international students, providing them with personalized support and assistance throughout their academic journey.
Advise international students on immigration regulations, including visa requirements, work permits, and maintaining legal status.
Collaborate with various departments, such as admissions, financial aid, and academic advising, to ensure a smooth transition for international students.
Develop and implement programs and workshops to assist international students in adapting to the academic, social, and cultural aspects of studying abroad.
Stay up-to-date on changes in immigration regulations, and communicate any updates or changes to international students.
Build and maintain relationships with international student organizations and associations.
Conduct regular check-ins with international students to monitor their academic progress and address any concerns or challenges they may face.
Assist international students with academic planning and course selection to ensure they are meeting degree requirements.
Provide academic and cultural guidance to international students, including referrals to resources such as tutoring, counseling, and career services.
Coordinate and lead orientation programs for new international students to familiarize them with the campus and provide essential information for a successful transition.
Collaborate with the international admissions team to recruit and admit international students, including reviewing applications and conducting interviews.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in international education, counseling, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in international student advising or a related field.
Thorough understanding of immigration regulations and procedures, including SEVIS and F-1 visa requirements.
Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to effectively communicate with international students from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and student information systems.
Fluency in a second language is preferred.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the needs of international students.
