Position: Construction Estimator

Job Description: We are seeking a highly-skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team. As a Construction Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our construction projects by accurately estimating the costs and timelines of various construction projects. Your expertise in analyzing blueprints and project specifications, as well as your knowledge of construction materials and methods, will be essential in ensuring the success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to clarify project details and requirements
• Conduct site visits to gather information and assess potential risks and challenges
• Utilize cost estimating software and tools to accurately calculate material, labor, and equipment costs
• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and reports to present to project managers and clients
• Keep track of industry trends and pricing fluctuations to ensure accurate cost estimates
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide value engineering suggestions
• Work closely with the procurement team to obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to negotiate better pricing and terms
• Review and analyze bids from subcontractors and vendors to ensure accuracy and competitiveness
• Provide support to project managers during the bidding and negotiation process
• Assist in preparing project budgets and schedules
• Monitor and track project costs throughout the duration of the project
• Conduct post-project analysis to identify areas for improvement and enhance future cost estimates

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably in commercial or residential construction
• Extensive knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques
• Proficiency in cost estimating software and tools
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven track record of successfully completing projects within budget
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Familiarity with local building codes and regulations
• Knowledge of LEED certification and sustainable building practices is a plus
