Job Title: Patrol Officer

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Patrol Officer. As a Patrol Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of our community by patrolling designated areas, responding to calls for service, and enforcing laws and regulations. This is a challenging but rewarding role that requires excellent communication skills, keen observation, and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine patrols of designated areas on foot, bicycle, or in a patrol vehicle to deter criminal activity and ensure the safety of the community
• Respond to calls for service, including but not limited to, traffic accidents, disturbances, and emergency situations
• Enforce laws and regulations by issuing warnings or citations, making arrests, and testifying in court as needed
• Conduct investigations and gather evidence at crime scenes to identify and apprehend suspects
• Assist with traffic control and accident investigations to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians
• Maintain accurate and detailed reports of all activities, incidents, and investigations
• Engage with members of the community in a professional and respectful manner, building positive relationships and promoting a sense of safety and security
• Provide first aid and emergency assistance as needed until additional medical support arrives
• Attend and participate in training sessions and meetings to enhance job knowledge and skills
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or senior officers

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license
• Completion of a certified law enforcement training program is preferred
• Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations related to law enforcement
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-stress situations
• Physical fitness and agility to perform duties such as running, lifting, and climbing
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must pass a thorough background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
• Prior law enforcement or military experience is a plus
