Job Title: Plastics Design Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plastics Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Plastics Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative plastic products that meet the needs of our clients. You will work closely with our cross-functional team to ensure that our products are of the highest quality and meet all technical requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plastics engineering and a passion for creating innovative designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to develop new plastic products
• Conduct research and analysis to identify new materials and technologies that can enhance product performance
• Design plastic parts and assemblies using 3D modeling software
• Conduct feasibility studies and perform simulations to determine the structural integrity of plastic designs
• Develop prototypes and conduct testing to validate design concepts
• Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing
• Work closely with suppliers to select the best materials and processes for production
• Collaborate with tooling engineers to develop molds and tooling for plastic products
• Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during production and assembly processes
• Conduct product performance evaluations and implement design improvements as needed
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in plastics engineering to continuously improve product designs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in plastic product design and development
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
• Strong understanding of plastic materials, properties, and processing techniques
• Experience with injection molding, blow molding, and extrusion processes
• Knowledge of design for manufacturing (DFM) principles
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Working knowledge of quality control and testing methods for plastic products
