Job Overview: As a Cemetery Groundskeeper, you will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of our cemetery grounds. You will work closely with our team to ensure that each gravesite is well-maintained, and the overall appearance of the cemetery is neat and presentable. This role requires a strong attention to detail, a passion for preserving the beauty of nature, and the ability to work in all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and pruning to keep the cemetery grounds well-manicured and free of debris.
• Plant and maintain flowers, shrubs, and trees, ensuring a variety of seasonal plants are present throughout the cemetery.
• Use hand and power tools to repair and maintain cemetery structures, including fences, benches, and headstones.
• Assist with the placement of caskets and urns during funeral services.
• Ensure proper disposal of garbage and waste from the cemetery grounds.
• Work closely with the Cemetery Manager to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for enhancements to the overall appearance of the grounds.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including inventory of tools and equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service to visitors by answering questions, giving directions, and providing assistance as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic horticulture and gardening techniques.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Strong physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Compassionate and respectful demeanor when working in a cemetery setting.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
