Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Timber Operations Manager to oversee our timber harvesting, processing, and distribution operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the timber industry, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for sustainable forestry practices. As the Timber Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of forestry professionals and ensuring the efficient and safe execution of all timber operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategies to ensure the efficient and sustainable harvesting, processing, and distribution of timber products
• Manage and supervise a team of forestry professionals, including loggers, truck drivers, and equipment operators
• Monitor the progress of timber operations and make adjustments as necessary to meet production targets and quality standards
• Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and company policies
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of logging equipment and vehicles
• Collaborate with the sales team to determine product demand and pricing
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders in the timber industry
• Prepare and manage budgets for timber operations
• Conduct regular safety audits and ensure all employees are trained on safety procedures
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in technology to improve operations
• Prepare reports and present updates to senior management on a regular basis

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Natural Resources Management, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in timber operations management
• In-depth knowledge of sustainable forestry practices, environmental regulations, and safety protocols
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to develop and implement strategies to improve operations and increase efficiency
• Proficient in using industry-specific software and tools
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Willingness to travel to different sites and work flexible hours as needed
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
