Job Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Proofreader to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for language, excellent attention to detail, and strong communication skills. As a Proofreader, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and consistency of all written materials before they are published. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of our publications and ensuring that our content is error-free.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and proofread all written materials, including articles, blog posts, marketing materials, and other publications
• Check for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors
• Verify facts, statistics, and references to ensure accuracy
• Collaborate with writers and editors to ensure consistency in style, tone, and voice
• Suggest edits and revisions to improve clarity, flow, and overall quality of written materials
• Ensure all content adheres to the company's style guide and brand guidelines
• Meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure all changes are accurately implemented
• Provide feedback and suggestions for content improvement
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in proofreading and editing

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Proofreader or Editor in a publishing or media company
• Excellent command of the English language with exceptional spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors quickly
• Familiarity with style guides such as AP, Chicago, and MLA
• Proficient in using editing and proofreading tools
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong time-management and organizational skills
• Highly adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for reading and learning new things
• Experience in a specific industry or subject matter is a plus
