Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our finance team. As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and collecting outstanding accounts receivable from our clients. You will work closely with our sales, billing, and customer service teams to ensure timely collection of payments and maintain a positive relationship with our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage accounts receivable aging reports to identify delinquent accounts
• Contact clients via phone, email, and mail to collect outstanding payments
• Negotiate payment plans and settlements with clients as needed
• Document all collection activities and maintain accurate records of communication with clients
• Collaborate with the sales team to resolve any billing or payment discrepancies
• Work with the customer service team to address any client inquiries or concerns related to payments
• Analyze and report on collection trends and provide recommendations for improvement
• Conduct credit checks on new clients and make credit limit recommendations to the finance manager
• Prepare and send monthly statements to clients
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable
• Stay current with industry regulations and best practices related to collections and credit management
• Participate in team meetings and provide updates on collection activities and challenges
• Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a positive relationship with clients at all times

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in collections or accounts receivable management
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and collection practices
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with accounting software
• Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
