Position: Network Technician
About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our company's network systems. As a Network Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our network infrastructure and providing technical support to our internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
- Perform routine network maintenance and upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to identify and resolve network outages, connectivity problems, and other technical issues
- Collaborate with other IT teams to implement and maintain network security protocols and procedures
- Assist in the development and implementation of disaster recovery plans and backup strategies
- Provide technical support to end-users and resolve network-related issues in a timely manner
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in networking technologies to recommend improvements and upgrades to the network infrastructure
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in network administration or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP
- Experience with Cisco and Juniper networking equipment
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, and Nagios
- Proficient in troubleshooting network issues using command-line tools and utilities
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
