Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Advisor to join our team. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a key role in providing guidance and support to students in their academic journey. You will be responsible for assisting students in selecting courses, creating academic plans, and providing resources to help them achieve their academic and career goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic advising to students, including course selection, degree planning, and career guidance
• Assist students in understanding academic policies, procedures, and requirements
• Develop and maintain relationships with students to better understand their academic needs and goals
• Monitor students' academic progress and intervene when necessary to ensure their success
• Collaborate with faculty and other departments to promote student success and retention
• Stay updated on curriculum changes, degree requirements, and academic policies to provide accurate and relevant information to students
• Organize and facilitate workshops and events to educate students on various academic topics
• Utilize technology and resources to track and maintain advising records and communicate with students
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in academic advising
• Contribute to the development and implementation of academic advising policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or related field
• Minimum of 4+ years of experience in academic advising or related field
• Strong knowledge of academic policies, procedures, and degree requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with students and colleagues
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Experience working with diverse student populations
• Proficient in using technology and student information systems
• Dedication to student success and a passion for education
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
