Position Overview: As an Academic Advisor, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting students throughout their academic journey. You will serve as a primary point of contact for students, providing them with personalized academic advising services to help them make informed decisions about their education. You will work closely with students to develop individualized academic plans and monitor their progress towards graduation. This position requires a strong commitment to student success, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive academic advising to students, including course selection, major exploration, and degree planning.
• Assist students in developing individualized academic plans that align with their career goals and academic strengths.
• Monitor students' academic progress and intervene when necessary to ensure timely completion of degree requirements.
• Conduct regular check-ins with students to provide support and resources to help them succeed academically.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement student success initiatives.
• Serve as a resource for students on academic policies, procedures, and campus resources.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and documentation.
• Participate in orientation and other campus events to provide academic advising and support to new and prospective students.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising or a related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of higher education policies, procedures, and academic requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of student development theory and advising best practices.
• Experience working with diverse student populations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and student information systems.
