Job Title: Dairy Farm Manager

Overview: We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dairy Farm Manager to oversee the operations of our dairy farm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agriculture and extensive knowledge of dairy farming processes. As the Dairy Farm Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the farm, ensuring the highest level of milk production, and maintaining the health and welfare of the dairy herd. This is a full-time position and requires a hands-on approach, as well as excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of the dairy farm, including herd health, milk production, and farm maintenance.
• Develop and implement strategies to maximize milk production and optimize herd health.
• Oversee the recruitment, training, and management of farm staff, ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
• Monitor and maintain the health and welfare of the dairy herd, including administering vaccinations, treating illnesses, and managing nutrition.
• Plan and execute breeding programs to maintain a healthy and productive herd.
• Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the farm facilities, including barns, milking parlors, and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of milk production, herd health, and farm expenses.
• Develop and manage the farm's budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements, implementing new techniques and technologies to improve farm operations.
• Foster positive relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other industry professionals.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in dairy farming, with at least 2 years in a management role.
• Proven track record of managing a successful dairy farm, with a strong understanding of milk production and herd management.
• Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of dairy farming techniques and best practices.
• Ability to work long hours and handle physically demanding tasks.
• Proficient in record-keeping and budget management.
