Position: Building Inspector
Job Description: We are seeking a highly qualified Building Inspector to join our team. As a Building Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of construction projects within our community. You will be responsible for inspecting buildings at various stages of construction, reviewing plans and specifications, and enforcing building codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site inspections of residential and commercial buildings to ensure compliance with applicable building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations.
- Review building plans, blueprints, and specifications to identify potential code violations and make recommendations for corrections.
- Document and report any violations or discrepancies found during inspections, and work with contractors and developers to resolve issues.
- Conduct follow-up inspections to ensure that corrections have been made and that buildings are in compliance with codes and regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure that all building projects are meeting necessary guidelines and requirements.
- Attend meetings with contractors, developers, and other stakeholders to discuss building projects and address any concerns.
- Keep abreast of changes in building codes and regulations and stay updated on industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and reports, and prepare detailed reports for management as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Building Inspector.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Proficient in using computer software and applications related to building inspection.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
